Well i have recently decided that my 3 major projects this summer are going to be to decorate both kids rooms and their bathroom. I started with their bathroom. I chose a super cute whale theme from target and decided i was going to paint the large wall with thick oasis blue and thin brown stripes... well this is much harder then it sounds... i have made myself frustrated this morning by trying to get my taping straight!!!! I gave up... i text my honey and said when you get i need to tape the kids bathroom wall... THANKS!!! But anywho here are some pics of this ongoing project! I hope to have final pics up next week sometime.

Anyone have any advice to make this taping straight lines easier?????
Hey, Lauren. What kind of tape are you using? Although I have no advice for taping straight lines, when Dean and I taped and painted once, we used standard paint-tape and IT DID NOT WORK. Paint bled underneath the tape and we ended up with jagged paint lines. Jagged paint lines=misery. Now I've HEARD there is a new paint-tape that has a special chemical in it and it gums up or something and works like a charm to prevent bleeding under the tape. I've never used it, but you might want to look into it if you haven't already. :o)
First let me say that we are reading each other's minds! I have been checking out (read stalking) your bloggy for a few days. How random is that?? Thank you so much for following! I will be doing the same. Hope you're having a great evening, lady! xoxo
Hello Lauren, The color and theme is awesome !! I'm so excited to see the finished project :) Good for you for tackling such a big project !! Big but it's all worth it in the end !!! I'm enjoying both your blogs !! Tammy
I want that bathroom theme for myself =] Lordy the only thing I can think of for straight lines would be that laser thingy from Black & Decker (I think), but who wants to spend that much $ on something you'll probably only use once? Good luck.
What a cute theme and a GREAT color. I wish I could convince the Hubster to be that brave about color. He's definitely a "neutral" kind of guy. I went with a cute jungle animal theme from Target for our kids' bathroom. I bought the cute matching wall hangings to go with the shower curtain and they've been sitting in the spare bedroom for 2 months! I need to get cracking on getting them UP. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I think you need a level that shoots a laser beam up the entire wall so that you can follow the light and make it straight. Good luck!
