Question for all of you bloggers out there!

Well first i want to welcome all of my new followers and friends from yesterdays Friendship Friday!!! Im so happy to have you and want to say thank you to everyone who participated and made it yet another successful Friday here at That 22 yr old Housewife!

I am pretty new to blogging started just about 4 months ago and never expected this blog to grow as much as it has... on that note i want to get some advice ... opinions and tips from you fellow bloggers out there.

1. Now that my blog is growing i want to know how you other bloggers got your names out there to host reviews and give aways?

2. I want to know how you get started on hosting ads and doing PR for people.

3. Do any of you use the ad-sense option? Is it worth it?

4. Is there anything on my blog you as readers/ followers would like to see? Can i add anything for you? Im looking to re organize and re-prioritize!

5. If i were to add additional pages to my blog, what would you like to see?

I appreciate anyone who replies with comments, tips, and/ or advice.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend

*proofread. make sure that your words are spelled correctly and that your sentences make grammatical sense. Readers want that.
*too many buttons on the side. I think one would do, instead of several.
*I'm not a fan of music on blogs but that is just a personal preference.
*If you add pages to your page, you could do your personal about me, your children's birth story, how you met your significant other, etc.
*I have ad sense on my page, and I don't have as many followers as you, but I don't think it's worth it!
I hope this helps!

Yeah I think I'd have to agree with the too many buttons on the side. I would make your post area larger, but that's just my personal opinion!

I also dislike music on a blog.

To me it feels a little wierd read the blog post on the right side when people read left to right... but that is just me.

You might want to put your follow button where it is more accessible to people so they can follow you! :)

I love the big pretty flowers! :)

I am not sure about PR as I do not do any of that, but it sure does sound like fun to me.

I do not use AdSense. I do not know too much about it either.

Additional pages ... maybe about me, maybe your family info...thats about all I got hehe

Hey I'm a new reader, but I really like your blog! I've been blogging for a while, but I'm just about to get started with the giveaways & reviews. I use BlogHer ads. You have to apply to be included, but I've found that I get the most money from them. I don't get much at all from the Google Adsense ads, but some people get the majority of their money from adsense. Plus it's easy to use with blogger.

I've started to get emails from companies asking if I'd like to do a review or giveaway for them. So far I've declined them all because I'm going to be pretty selective about what I review or give away, but they've contacted me. I haven't done much searching around.

Also, just about your blog in particular, if I could make a suggestion - move your post content to the left & make it bigger. The top left of your page is prime eye-sight range. I've read several articles that talk about this. So I'd do top left as the post, then 2 sidebars on the right OR post content in the middle with a sidebar on either side. Also try to de-clutter & simplify. I've found the most popular blogs are pretty simple & streamlined as far as what's on their page. Look at the top 5 on Top Mommy Blogs or Top Baby Blogs & you'll see even if they have a bunch of stuff, it's simplified.

Yours would look a lot simpler if you moved the sidebars to either side of the post area. And take out the stuff underneath the post area & move it to the sidebars. I'd maybe get rid of the music player because I've seen several discussions on BlogFrog where people talk about how they don't like that. I don't like it, but I rarely have my sound turned on when I'm reading blogs, so it really doesn't bother me that much.

Also, about the pages - Make your "about me" profile thing a page & not something on the sidebar. Make the contact & even maybe the blogroll thing a page rather than in the sidebar.

Totally just suggestions. Feel free to just ignore all of this because when it comes down to it, you have to do what fits your personality & your style because that's what's going to get people coming back to your blog - if you're authentic! I'm going to keep coming back either way because I like your content! But I'm also going to be checking back on this post to see what else people say!! I bet you'll get some great tips!!

I have learned that putting your about me, blog rolls, and favorite sites in pages is better than having it on your home page. I added pages to mine and it looks much better.

I am still trying to get more followers since i am new too, but it's hard. It's hard to get noticed. You just have to keep blogging your heart out. I think that once you get it all sorted out into pages it will be even mroe awesome!!

I love your blog, I love reading your posts. I love your honesty!

WOW! That's a lot of good advice! Thanks for asking this question! It's great to see what people have to say!
I went through a time where I changed my blog ALL THE TIME. I was never happy with it. I finally got to a point where I decided I just needed to simplify and now I'm less stressed about it. So that's my advice...simplify. One way is to make a menu bar. That's huge. You can do all of your about me info in that using pages, or a blog party link,... you can make links for everything, which then simplifies your home blog page. Happy designing!!

I love reading your posts!

I love your blog! I do agree with the music thing and having so much stuff on your home page makes it take a long time to load. I just read a tip about making sure your home page loads fast - or somepeople will move on.

As for PR, I don't have as many followers as you do - but CSN contacted me to see if I wanted to do a review of giveaway, I did the giveaway option and that was fun. Also, if you want to review books - sign up on Net Gallery.

As a last note, I LOVE the "bootcamp" posting that you do!

Very interesting post & comments! I'm a new blogger too, so it's nice to hear tips and advice! I've left comments, especially on Friday Follows, asking questions, and some times others don't bother to help me, but I've found some honest & faithful friends too! =)

I don't know much either. I'd love for you to share anything you know about BlogHer/adsense because I am super interested in that!

I have given a couple things away and have turned down some ads and also some give aways. They approached me every time. I don't know how they determine who to go after unless they just look at the amount of followers someone has. I think some folks make big money on their blogs but I am not sure how they do it.
How it looks is preference I guess, I won a makeover or mine would be plain jane cause I'm tech challenged. My sound is always off so I never know if music is on or not but I can see where someone might not like that if they click a blog and music is playing.
On just blogging in general it seems that people who comment get comments and people who visit get visits. People who reply in the comment box also get many more comments and it seems to cause people to want to comment.
